Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot, Cursor or Ollama won't install, won't start, or can't find Node, Python or Git? We get your setup working so you can get back to building.

Remote from $25 · Windows, Mac and Linux · Students and developers

AI coding tools are quick to install when everything underneath is right, and frustrating when it isn't. Most failures come from the foundations: the wrong Node.js or Python version, a PATH that doesn't include what you just installed, permissions errors, a corporate or school network blocking sign-in, or Windows needing WSL or Git set up first.

We connect remotely, fix the environment properly, install and sign in to the tools you want, and check they work in your editor and terminal. You create your own accounts and subscriptions and enter your own API keys; we never need them.

What we handle

Tools We Set Up and Fix

Claude Code

Installed with the right prerequisites for your system, signed in to your own account, and working in your terminal and VS Code.

OpenAI Codex CLI

Set up on Mac, Linux or Windows (via WSL where that works best), connected to your own account, and tested on a real project folder.

GitHub Copilot and Cursor

Copilot in VS Code or JetBrains, or the Cursor editor, signed in and suggesting code. Verified students can often get Copilot Pro free through GitHub Education.

Ollama and local AI models

Run models on your own computer. We check your RAM and graphics card first, so you know which models will actually run well.

Node.js, Python and Git

Clean installs with version managers, PATH fixed, pip and npm working, and Git connected to GitHub with SSH keys.

VS Code and WSL

VS Code with the right extensions, and WSL2 with Ubuntu on Windows 11 for tools that run best on Linux.

Our boundaries

What We Do, and What We Don't

We set up and troubleshoot the tools and the environment they run in. We don't write, complete or check coursework or assignments, and we won't help get around a course's rules on AI use. Check your course policy before using AI tools on graded work.

You sign up for each tool yourself and enter your own passwords and API keys. We're independent and not affiliated with Anthropic, OpenAI, GitHub, Cursor or Ollama; their product names are used here only to describe what we install.

Hardware

Is My Laptop Good Enough?

Cloud tools like Claude Code, Codex and Copilot run on almost any recent laptop, because the AI runs on the provider's servers. Running models locally with Ollama is different: small models need at least 8 GB of RAM, mid-size models 16 GB or more, and a supported graphics card makes them much faster.

If your laptop is short on memory or still on a hard drive, a RAM or SSD upgrade is often the cheapest fix. We'll tell you before you spend anything.

Common questions

AI Coding Tools FAQs

Why won't Claude Code install or run on my computer?

Usually a missing or outdated prerequisite such as Node.js or Git, a PATH problem, permissions, or on Windows, a setup that needs Git Bash or WSL. We check each and get it running in your terminal.

Can you set up Copilot or Codex in VS Code?

Yes. We install the extension or CLI, sign you in with your own account, and check suggestions and chat work in your projects.

Can I run AI models on my own laptop?

With Ollama, yes, if it has enough memory: around 8 GB of RAM for small models and 16 GB or more for larger ones. We check your hardware first and recommend models that will run well.

Will you help with my coding assignment?

No. We set up and fix tools and environments only. Coursework is yours, and your course's AI policy decides how you can use these tools.

Do you need my API key or password?

No. You enter your own keys and passwords; we never store them.

Stuck on Setup?

Send us the tool, your operating system and the error message. Most fixes are one remote session.
