Gaming PC Repair in Ottawa

Gaming PCs fail in their own ways. A PC that shuts off or restarts mid-game is usually a power supply that can't keep up with the graphics card, or a CPU or GPU running too hot. Crashes to desktop, driver timeouts and artifacts on screen point to the graphics card or its drivers. Random blue screens after a RAM upgrade are often an XMP or EXPO memory profile the system can't hold stable.

We test the power supply under load, check temperatures and fan curves, run memory and GPU stress tests, and clean out the dust before anything gets replaced. You get a firm quote first, and if you've already bought a new part, we'll install it and make sure it's running properly.

Planning a new machine instead? We also do custom PC builds, and SSD upgrades for PS5, Steam Deck and ROG Ally.

How it works

How a PC Repair Works

Same process whether it's a dead power supply, a boot loop, or a PC that's just gotten slow.

  1. Step 1: Diagnostic

We test the power supply, memory, drive and graphics, not just the symptom you called about.

  2. Step 2: Quote

A firm price before any work starts, including any part.

  3. Step 3: Repair

Fixed and stress-tested, often the same day for software.

  4. Step 4: Clean-up

Dust cleared and settings tuned so it stays fast and cool.

Common questions

PC & Desktop Repair FAQs

How much does PC or desktop repair cost in Ottawa?

Software repairs on a desktop (blue screens, boot errors, Windows reinstalls) start at $40, and if we can't fix a software problem you don't pay. Hardware faults like a dead power supply or graphics card are quoted after a free inspection, with the part price confirmed before anything is ordered.

My desktop won't turn on at all. Is it the power supply?

Often, but not always. A PC that shows no lights and no fans is usually the power supply, the wall-side cable or the front power switch. One that powers on but shows nothing on screen is more often RAM, the graphics card or the motherboard. We test each part to find the actual cause instead of guessing.

Do you repair gaming PCs and custom builds?

Yes. We diagnose crashes under load, overheating, GPU and driver problems, failing power supplies and unstable overclocks on custom and prebuilt gaming PCs, and can swap in parts you've bought yourself.

Can you fix a blue screen or boot loop on Windows 11?

Yes. Blue screen (BSOD) errors and boot or startup problems on Windows 11 and 10 are among the most common repairs we handle, alongside crashes, freezes, and driver issues. The stop code on the blue screen (for example MEMORY_MANAGEMENT or a driver file name) tells us where to start, so take a photo of it if you can.

My PC keeps losing the time and BIOS settings. Is it the CMOS battery?

Usually, yes. A small coin-cell battery on the motherboard keeps the clock and BIOS settings while the PC is unplugged, and after several years it runs flat. On most desktops it's a quick, inexpensive swap, after which we restore your BIOS settings.

How much does motherboard replacement cost?

It depends on the board and whether the processor and memory can move across, so it's quoted after diagnosis. We confirm the board is actually the fault first, and if replacing it would cost close to a new PC, we'll tell you before you spend anything.

Can you install a graphics card or power supply I bought?

Yes. We check that your power supply, case and motherboard can take the new part first, install it, update drivers and test it under load. If you're planning a bigger upgrade or a new machine, see our custom PC builds.

Can you reinstall Windows without losing my files?

Yes. When we reinstall Windows 11 or 10, we keep your files and set your programs back up.

Is it worth repairing an old desktop?

Usually more than with a laptop, because desktop parts are standard and cheap to swap. An SSD and a fresh Windows install ($70 plus the drive) makes most older desktops feel new. If the motherboard has failed on a very old machine, we'll tell you honestly that replacing it is the better spend.
