Restart the laptop, then check Settings, Accessibility, Keyboard and make sure Filter Keys and Sticky Keys are off. A good test is the BIOS setup screen: if the keys work there, the keyboard is fine and the problem is a driver or setting in Windows, which we can usually fix remotely.
If only some keys don't work, keys repeat on their own, or the problem started after a spill or a drop, the keyboard or its ribbon cable has usually failed and needs replacing.
