- Drives with a mechanical fault (clicking, grinding, not spinning) that need a clean-room lab
- Motherboard and liquid damage, which we assess first before quoting
Even then, if you need your files today, we can usually get them off the machine first.
What to Do Before We Get to It
A few minutes of the right first move can save a repair, or your files.
It won't turn on
Plug in the charger and leave it for 30 minutes. Then unplug it, hold the power button for 30 seconds, plug it back in and try again. If the screen stays black but you hear fans, try an external monitor.
You spilled something on it
Turn it off straight away, unplug the charger and don't turn it back on to check. Stand it upside down in a tent shape so liquid drains out. Skip the rice and the hair dryer, and message us.
Files gone or the drive failed
Stop using the computer or drive. Every minute it runs can overwrite what's recoverable. If the drive is clicking, don't run free recovery software on it; that can finish it off.
Scam pop-up or someone got in
Don't call the number on screen. If someone connected to your computer, turn off the Wi-Fi, and call your bank if you typed card or banking details.

We're not a 24-hour service, and we'd rather say so than have you wait on a reply. We answer from 7 AM to 11 PM every day. A message sent overnight is the first one we read in the morning, and if a drive has failed, the most useful thing you can do before then is leave it switched off.
Can you fix a cracked laptop screen today?
Usually not the same day. Screens are specific to your exact model, so we order the right panel once we've confirmed it and give you the timeline with the quote. If you need your files in the meantime, we can get them off the laptop straight away.
Can you help right now without me coming in?
Very often, yes. For software problems, virus removal, slowdowns, email, and account issues we can start a secure remote session and fix it while you wait, anywhere in Ottawa.
My Windows 11 computer keeps getting a blue screen. Can you fix it today?
Often, yes. Most Windows 11 blue screens come from a bad driver, a failed update or corrupted system files, which can usually be fixed the same day, remotely if the computer still starts. Take a photo of the stop code on the blue screen and send it to us on WhatsApp. If the blue screens point to failing memory or a failing drive, we'll tell you, back up your files first, and quote the part.
What does emergency computer repair cost?
There's no rush fee, and evenings and weekends cost the same as weekdays. The diagnosis is free, and if we can't fix it, you don't pay. Remote sessions start at $25 and Windows repairs at $40. You approve the quote before any work begins.
