PS5, Steam Deck & ROG Ally SSD Upgrades in Ottawa

Out of space for games? We fit the right SSD, set it up and test it: expansion storage on a PS5, and a bigger main drive in a Steam Deck or ROG Ally.

Right drive for your model · Set up and tested · Quoted upfront

Modern games are big, and the built-in storage on consoles and handhelds fills up fast. The fix is a larger or additional SSD, but each device takes a specific size and type of drive, and the handhelds need their system reinstalled afterwards.

We tell you exactly which drive to buy (or source it), fit it carefully, set the system up and test it, so you're back to playing rather than troubleshooting.

What we handle

Upgrades by Device

PS5 SSD expansion

Every PS5 model has an M.2 expansion slot. We fit a compatible PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD with a heatsink, format it on the console, and show you how to move games across. Your existing games and saves stay where they are.

Steam Deck SSD upgrade

The Steam Deck takes a short M.2 2230 drive. We swap it for a larger one, reinstall SteamOS, and you sign back in. Cloud saves come back automatically; games need downloading again.

ROG Ally SSD upgrade

The original ROG Ally uses an M.2 2230 drive, while the ROG Ally X takes a full-length 2280. We fit the larger drive and restore Windows with ASUS's recovery so drivers and Armoury Crate are in place.

Choosing the right drive

Correct length, interface and speed for your device, and a drive that runs cool. We give you a specific recommendation before you buy.

Your old drive

The original handheld drive comes back to you; it makes a handy portable drive in a USB enclosure.

Gaming PCs and laptops too

More storage for a gaming PC or laptop, with your existing setup kept intact.

Before you book

What Happens to My Games and Saves?

On a PS5 nothing is lost: the new SSD adds storage alongside the internal drive, and you choose which games live where.

On a Steam Deck or ROG Ally, the main drive is replaced, so the system is reinstalled and games are downloaded again. Saves synced to Steam Cloud or the game's own cloud come back automatically; check any game without cloud saves before the upgrade, and we'll help you back them up.

Common questions

Console & Handheld SSD Upgrades FAQs

What SSD does a PS5 need?

An M.2 PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD of 250 GB to 8 TB, with a heatsink or a low-profile cooler that fits the slot. We'll recommend a specific drive for your budget.

Will I lose my games if I upgrade my Steam Deck SSD?

The system is reinstalled on the new drive, so games are downloaded again. Steam Cloud saves return automatically when you sign in; we'll help you back up any game that doesn't use cloud saves first.

What size SSD does the ROG Ally take?

The original ROG Ally takes an M.2 2230 drive. The ROG Ally X takes a standard M.2 2280 drive, which gives you many more options.

Does an SSD upgrade void my warranty?

Adding a PS5 expansion SSD is designed for owners and doesn't affect the warranty. For handhelds, warranty terms vary by maker and region, so check yours first, especially on a new device.

Do you replace console batteries or repair consoles?

We don't replace console batteries or do board-level console repairs. Storage upgrades for PS5, Steam Deck and ROG Ally, we do.
