My Medical Centers
Every Piece of Clinic Technology, Across Three Ottawa Locations
We've been the IT consultant for this Ottawa clinic group from the start. We handle the network and internet failover, wireless cameras, workstations, shared printing, access between sites and custom workflows at all three locations.
What We Provided
- IT consulting
- Clinic network infrastructure
- Internet failover & redundancy
- Wireless camera setup
- Workstation procurement & upgrades
- Multi-site printer sharing
- Cross-location access
- Custom workflow development
- Ongoing IT support
A clinic cannot pause. When the internet drops, a printer stops sharing, or a workstation fails, patients are already in the waiting room. A growing group multiplies each of those risks by the number of sites. Handled the usual way, each location ends up with its own contractor for the network, another for the cameras, another for the computers, and nobody accountable for how the pieces fit together. Staff moving between clinics find a different setup at each one, and no single person can answer what would happen if a connection went down mid-clinic.
Involved from day one as the clinic group's IT consultant, so technology decisions were made at planning stage and then carried into the second and third locations rather than re-decided each time.
Internet fail-safe at each site: a second connection configured to take over automatically if the primary drops, so a provider outage does not stop the clinic seeing patients.
Cross-location access, so staff and systems at one clinic can reach what they need at another, and the group works as one practice instead of three separate ones.
Shared network printing at each site, so any workstation prints to any clinic printer without per-machine driver work or moving between desks.
Wireless camera systems specified and set up around each clinic's actual layout and requirements, rather than a generic off-the-shelf camera kit.
Workstation procurement, upgrades, and deployment across all three locations, keeping hardware current instead of replacing it during a failure.
Custom workflow tooling built around how the clinic actually runs, taking manual steps out of day-to-day operations.
One point of contact: any tech request or upgrade at any of the three clinics comes to us, so nothing falls between vendors.
What Changed
Before
After
A provider outage stopped the clinic working
Automatic failover to a second connection, with no interruption to the day
A separate contractor for network, cameras, and computers
One contact responsible for all of the clinic's technology
Each location its own island of technology
Three sites sharing access, printing, and a common setup
Printing tied to whichever machine had the right driver
Any workstation prints to any printer at that site
Manual steps worked around in daily operations
Custom workflow tooling built around how the clinic actually runs
Technology decided under opening-day pressure at each new site
Planned from day one and carried into the second and third locations
How It Changed Their Day-to-Day
An internet outage no longer stops the clinic
If the primary connection fails, traffic moves to the second one automatically. Staff and patients carry on without a pause, instead of the day stopping until a provider restores service.
Three locations that behave like one practice
Cross-location access and a common setup mean staff moving between clinics find what they expect, and the group isn't running three unrelated setups.
One number for every technology problem
Network, cameras, computers, printing, and workflows are all handled by us. Nothing falls into the gap between separate contractors, and nobody at the clinic has to work out whose problem it is.
Printing stopped being a per-desk problem
Any workstation prints to any printer at that site. Adding a machine no longer means chasing drivers or reassigning who can print to what.
Decisions made at planning stage, not under pressure
Being there from day one meant infrastructure was specified for a group that intended to grow, so opening a location did not mean unwinding earlier choices.
Cameras placed for each clinic
Wireless camera coverage was specified around each site's layout and what the practice actually needed to see, rather than whatever a packaged kit happened to include.
